Growing up, my father was one of the youngest of 10 children, and my mom was one of five. Elders have been a constant and inspiring presence in my life. Now, as a geriatrician for nearly 20 years, I’ve walked alongside thousands of people as they age. In my experience, the rapidly evolving healthcare system too often leaves the needs of elders and their caregivers behind. While I can’t provide hands-on medical care for every elder, I can offer basic knowledge to all those who are caring for them. From this desire, EldercareMD is born with app-based tools and weekly caregiver education to help you ensure the very best healthcare for your aging loved ones.

Dr. Melissa Black holds a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies with concentrations in Gerontology and Native American Studies. She completed her doctorate in medicine at SUNY Buffalo College of Medicine and a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Emory University. She practices medicine in Atlanta, GA and serves on the leadership team of a local chapter of ACAP (Adult Children of Aging Parents).
